The Digital Real Pilot Project

The Digital Real is poised to speed up the adoption of the new digital economy, functioning as settlement layer for tokenized financial and non-financial assets.

Parfin is among a select group of institutions chosen by the Brazilian Central Bank to take part in the Digital Real (CBDC) pilot project, and also is supporting other chosen institutions with its top-tier infrastructure.

Also, Parfin participated in the Lift Challenge, the sandbox project previous to the Digital Real pilot project, working hand in hand with Santander. In this project, we opted for Hyperledger Besu as the blockchain technology, later singled out by the Brazilian Central Bank for the Digital Real pilot project. This decision turned out to be a incredibly relevant, giving us a deep-dive into the technology, including its implementation and limitations.
